Bring your inner bard to life with this adult-size hat sewing pattern—perfect for Renaissance fairs, Halloween costumes, or embodying your Dungeons & Dragons character. The scalloped brim is inspired by Tudor-era caps and can be styled stiff or slightly floppy, depending on your choice of materials and interfacing. The pleated crown adds plenty of volume and "poof," while the fully lined interior gives it a clean, professional finish. This is a beginner-friendly project that you can complete in under a day, using just 1/2 yard of fashion fabric.

Required Tools and Materials:
-Fashion Fabric (½ yard): Choose a medium- to heavyweight fabric that will hold its shape. Recommended options include brocade, velvet, corduroy, or wool coating. The fabric should have enough body to maintain structure while still being pliable.
-Lining Fabric (½ yard): Select a smooth, slippery fabric that will be gentle against hair. Rayon bemberg lining is ideal for its breathability and comfort. Alternatives include silk charmeuse or high-quality polyester lining fabric.
-Fusible Interfacing (½ yard): This provides structure to the brim. Choose your interfacing weight based on two factors: your desired brim stiffness and compatibility with your fashion fabric. Test a small sample before applying to your project.
-Thread: One spool of all-purpose polyester thread. Since all stitching will be concealed, exact color matching isn't crucial, though choosing a coordinating color is recommended.
-Fabric Marking Tool: Options include:
-Heat-erasable pen for light to medium fabrics
-Chalk or white gel pen for dark fabrics
-Regular pencil for light-colored, sturdy fabrics

Basic Sewing Equipment:
-Sharp fabric scissors
-Straight pins
-Hand sewing needle
-Iron and ironing board
-Sewing machine
-Point turner (alternatively, a chopstick or clean paintbrush handle)

PDF Pattern Printing and Assembly:
Download and print the PDF file that matches your paper size (A4 or Letter) at 100% scale. Verify accurate printing by measuring the 2" × 2" test square located on page C4. Pages will print with content aligned to the top-left corner, eliminating the need for trimming. Assemble pages following the provided diagram in the instruction booklet. Align the registration marks and red guidelines on the right and bottom edges of each page, securing with tape. Once assembled, cut out each pattern piece along the marked lines.
