Trompe-L'Oeil Convertible Handbag

An homage to Elsa Schiaparelli's trompe-l'oeil bow sweater, this retro handbag has a bow appliqué that was formed from grosgrain ribbon and hand-stitched to the face of the bag. It sits in the center of the trapeze-shaped cornflower linen, being framed on each side by dense and structured navy ruffles. The wearer has the option of letting the bag hang from the wrist or crook of the elbow by its steel gray corduroy handles, or wearing it as a shoulder or crossbody bag with the wide, quilted strap. The strap can be both reversed to show off the light blue linen or the navy side, or it can be removed entirely using the cute, vintage satin-covered buttons. The bag has a magnetic closure, and the lining is made of the same navy cotton as the ruffles and strap.
